Book Talk: The I Heart Series by Lindsey Kelk

I have recently finished reading the whole of the I Heart series by Lindsey Kelk and I loved it! My friend recommended the first book, I Heart New York, to me and I fell completely in love with the storyline and the characters. There are 6 books in the series: I heart New York; I heart Hollywood; I heart Paris; I heart Vegas; I heart London and I heart Christmas.

The series follows writer Angela Clarke as she leaves her ordinary life in London and runs away to New York to start a new life for herself. I loved all of the crazy silly situations she ended up in and the romantic story alongside it was lovely, as well as developing new friendships. The style is quite similar to that of the Shopaholic Series by Sophie Kinsella, in that funny, ditsy, chick-flick kind of way. So if you love that series then I highly recommend this!

My favourite in the series was I Heart London, which is the 5th book in the series. Angela revisits her home and her family in London. Her old life in England comes face to face with her new life in America and she sees how life at home hasn’t changed much without her. Of course things never go smoothly in Angela’s life and there are lots of crazy events that happen throughout.

The whole series really inspired me because I would love to be a writer in the future and the things that Angela managed to do, working for a magazine, travelling to lots of different places and living in New York, are all things that I would love to do in the future. Lindsey Kelk’s writing is clever, witty and contextually brilliant.

A brilliant series that you won’t want to put down! I just wish that there were more books to read because I would love to continue reading about her life.
