The drive to Las Vegas was long but we were surrounded by so much beautiful scenery that the time flew by. As soon as we arrived we went out to explore the famous Strip! The first hotel we saw was Caesars Palace. We walked through all the shops and got to see the beautiful interiors! Vegas is a crazy place! I loved how the hotels had sections where you would walk through and think you were going outside but you were still inside. The ceilings had been decorated like the sky and the floor was cobbled.
The next day we decided to go to one of the nearby malls for a bit of retail therapy, which it turns out was the best thing to do as most of the shops had incredible 4th of July sales and discounts! So we hit the designer shops, coming out with Ray Bans and Levis and my new beautiful Michael Kors bag! I never thought I would own something so precious! Thank you 4th of July weekend!
We then headed back to the strip to visit some more of the hotels. We strolled around the Venetian which was completely mesmerising. It looked exactly like how you would picture Venice to be. The punting river flowed all the way through and the little gondolas ferried tourists along.
My mum then took us to this other hotel where we had to wait at the taxi rank. She wouldn’t tell us where we were going or what we were doing! A limo then showed up and it took us to a helicopter station. She had booked for us to take a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon! It was the most incredible thing I have ever experienced and I would recommend it to anyone. The helicopter landed in the Canyon and we had a picnic there and then flew back at sunset and along the Vegas Strip with all of it’s lights on. The views were spectacular. It is something I will never forget.
The next day was the 4th of July! We looked at some more hotel, Paris, Mirage, New York New York and the Bellagio. All of which were crazy and wonderful in their own ways. We stopped for lunch at this balcony restaurant that looked over the Bellagio. We sat there for ages whilst watching the fountains. We also witnessed someone getting married in front of the fountains! There is just so much happening and so much to see.
In the evening we stood with the rest of Vegas along the strip, ready to watch the fireworks. Everyone was cheering and singing and just having a great time celebrating. It felt so good to be a part of it.
I can’t wait to visit again when I am old enough to gamble!
