Book Talk: Shopaholic to the Rescue

After taking my sweet time to read Me Before You, I sped through Shopaholic in just a few days! I started reading the Shopaholic series years ago, when I was probably about 13 and have followed Sophie Kinsella’s writing ever since. Of all her books, the Shopaholic series is my favourite, and I have become so invested in all of the characters lives. I was extremely excited when I finally managed to get the latest book, Shopaholic to the Rescue, after waiting about a year for it.

Like all the other books, I instantly fell back into the lives of Becky and her family, and couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen after being left on a cliff hanger from the last book. I have always loved Kinsella’s writing style, and how she comically lays out the craziness and mystery that Becky tries to uncover. I loved the twists and turns through the story, and how there were lots of different struggles between each character, and how Becky somehow continued to pull off her outrageous plans!

For me, the best part about the story was that it was set between Las Vegas and Tuscon, Arizona; two places that I visited last year. It brought back some amazing memories of my time there, and perfectly described exactly how amazing the two places are. I was transported back, and that’s the best feeling to get when you’re reading.

This book had me laughing at every page, just like all the others in the series, and made me want to re read all the other books. I will always want more and more of these books, and will always enjoy reading about Becky’s life and the stupid things she gets into.

If you’ve enjoyed Becky’s Las Vegas adventures, then take a read of my own trip to the states last year!
