Last year I set myself resolutions and I don’t think I achieved any of them. In fact I can’t even remember what they were. It was the only year I think I have ever set resolutions, as it’s something I don’t usually do, and apparently for good reason! So no resolutions for me this year. But just some more positive thinking, letting go of the past and focussing on me and my life.
But before we can start the new year, we have to see out the old one. I have had the best time over Christmas and New Years, spending it all with my friends and family. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day I was with my mums side, drinking eating, playing that stupid game where you can’t speak properly. I was spoilt rotten and am so grateful for our lovely time together.
Boxing Day, round 2, my sister and I were with our dads side. Again, eating, drinking, presents, Christmas TV, espresso martinis! There’s just something so lovely about Christmas where you can just relax and not have to worry about anything for a couple of days. We also had a lovely little edition with us, my step mums, brothers daschund puppy! Such a cute little puppy, and he was so good with all the Christmas commotion.
Then it was that weird week in between Christmas and New Years where you have no idea what day it is or what’s going on. For New Years my plan was just going to be to sit in with some pizza, and wine but I ended up going to my friends house where she was having a little party and it ended up being such a good night, and I got to catch up with some old friends of mine.
It’s important to make time for your friends and family, and this is something that I want to focus on more in 2017. 2016 has been a rollercoaster for me and I’m just glad it’s over and that I can now start over a fresh.
I hope you have all had a wonderful festive season and that your New Years is as magical as ever!
